Matthew 24
No One Knows the Day or Hour
36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
In this passage Jesus Is talking about his coming. Just like the passage says the coming of Jesus will catch a lot of people by surprise. In fact many people who are aware of the coming of Christ, who know that Jesus will come will be caught by surprise.
Why will this happen? It is because although they know the truth, they are distracted. They are living as if they are completely unaware of what is going to happen. Their spiritual eyes are blinded.
Until they open their spiritual eyes, how will they receive their salvation. As a Christian do you believe that Jesus will come to take his Church? Do you believe that what is written in the Word will be fulfilled?
If so, what are you doing about it?
Remember, not everyone will be taken, only those who are faithful as Noah was. The coming of Jesus will be glorious for the faithful but it will be horrible for those who will not be saved. You have to live as if you’re expecting Jesus All the time. The world may invite you to do wrong things. They may think that you are arrogant and better than them. Let them think whatever they want and live as if you are protecting something. Do not forget that it is your responsibility to live a faithful life because if you don’t you are at the risk of losing your Salvation.
